Motorbike rider, 21, dies after crash in Derbyshire town

A young motorcyclist has died after crashing into a house in a Derbyshire town. The grey Yamaha motorbike left Wilmot Road, Swadlincote, at around 11.20pm on Friday, August 26.

It collided with a house, leaving the rider, a 21-year-old man, seriously injured. Sadly, after being taken to hospital, he later died.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Derbyshire police have extended their condolences to the man’s family and friends.

Officers are now investigating the collision. They are keen to speak to anyone who was in Hearthcote Road, Stanhope Road or Alexandra Road around the time it occurred.
