Deaf EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis is growing apart from her boyfriend after she triumphed in Strictly, showbiz sources claim. The British Sign Language campaigner’s publicity team has declined to comment on the media claims.

Rose stole the hearts of the nation last year when she partnered up with professional dancer, Giovanni Pernice, 33, with the pair going on to win the coveted Glitterball trophy in the 2021 series of the BBC dance competition.

Following her epic win, the talented EastEnders actress was tipped to break Hollywood as her career instantly skyrocketed after her incredible stint on Strictly, where she raised awareness for her community time and time again during her incredible journey on the show.

As Rose, 28, and Giovanni’s friendship blossomed behind-the-scenes, tongues started wagging there was something more between the pair due to their sizzling onscreen chemistry.

However, all throughout her Strictly journey, Rose was in a happy and committed relationship with boyfriend, Sam Arnold.

The much-loved actress famously keeps her romance with Sam under wraps, but rumours have started to spread that the pair have ‘grown apart’ after Rose won the show last December, reported

Rose and Sam had celebrated seven blissful years together before she embarked on the iconic BBC competition, and now sources have claimed that Rose’s rise in fame has put a strain on their relationship.

Speaking to The Sun, an insider claimed that Rose and Sam have been concentrating on themselves in recent times.

“Rose and Sam drifted apart, especially after she became so busy with work projects and was in-demand with new work opportunities.

“They still have a lot of love and respect for each other, but they’re also still young and working out their lives.

“Rose went to Barcelona on her own to gather her thoughts and think about what she wanted. They have both grown as people since they first starting dating. This is Rose’s moment and she is grabbing life by the horns, focusing on her career and taking any opportunity that she can.”

The Mirror has reached out to Rose’s representatives for comment on this story.

The speculation comes as Rose’s career continues to soar following her Strictly Come Dancing success.

Rose is said to be honoured by Her Majesty The Queen and awarded an MBE due to her work raising awareness of the deaf community.

The actress, who has played Frankie Lewis on EastEnders since 2020, won herself legions of fans last year when she competed on Strictly Come Dancing and won.

Rose was the first ever deaf contestant on the hit BBC show and her presence on the series prompted fans to begin learning sign language.

Earlier this month, the actress unveiled the first ever Barbie with hearing aids.

Rose, who has been deaf since birth, proudly posed alongside the doll that has been named after her.

Beaming from ear-to-ear Rose held the doll called Rose, Barbie & Friends, as she celebrated the major milestone.

Talking about the new doll, she said: “It’s so important for children to be able to see themselves represented in the toys they play with.

“When I was little, I would draw hearing aids onto my Barbie dolls to make them look like me, so I am thrilled that Mattel is releasing more dolls that encourage kids to celebrate and embrace their differences.”

Rose has publicised her aim to have sign language made into a registered language and given legal status in the UK.
