Police name motorcyclist who died in crash in Swadlincote

Derbyshire police have named a young motorbike rider who died in a crash in Swadlincote. Jamie Dancer was killed when his bike left the road.

The 21-year-old’s grey Yamaha motorbike crashed on Wilmot Road at around 11.20pm on August 26. The bike left the road and collided with a house.

Jamie, from Woodville, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He died in hospital.

His family are being supported by specialist officers. Derbyshire police are asking anyone with information about the crash to come forward.

The force said: “Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and remain keen to hear from anyone who was in Heathcote Road, Stanhope Road and Alexandra Road around the time it occurred. Anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage which may be useful to officers should ensure it is securely downloaded to a separate device, ready for them to view. Please quote reference number 22*498412 when contacting us.”
